A family dream, carried into its second chapter

Welcome to the second chapter of Auckland’s Finest.

Our story began years before Auckland’s Finest became the brand it is today.

In 2006, Clara Bennett’s parents, Margaret and David, opened a small family shopfront in Auckland. It was never meant to be a cold fashion store or a place chasing every passing trend. Their dream was much simpler: to create a place where people could find clothing, shoes, and everyday pieces that felt comfortable, familiar, and truly worth wearing.

Margaret had a special eye for pieces that made people feel good. She believed the best clothes were not always the loudest or the most fashionable — they were the ones people reached for again and again. A soft cardigan. A reliable jacket. A comfortable pair of shoes. A piece that made someone feel quietly confident without trying too hard.

David brought the other side of the dream: care, patience, and responsibility. He believed a store should be built with honesty, not pressure. With family values, not empty promises.

For a while, that little Auckland shopfront was their world. There were racks of carefully chosen pieces, handwritten notes, late-night conversations, and a young daughter growing up around the dream her parents were trying to build.

But as the costs grew and the risk became too heavy for a young family, Margaret and David had to make a difficult decision.

They stepped away from the shop.

Not because they stopped believing in it.
Not because the dream no longer mattered.
But because family had to come first.

Years later, Clara grew up with that story in her heart. She understood that her parents had paused something meaningful to protect the life they were building for her. And over time, that unfinished dream became something she wanted to carry forward.

With her own savings, Clara decided to give the dream its second chapter.

That is how Auckland’s Finest was born.

Today, Auckland’s Finest carries the same belief her parents started with: style should feel familiar, comfortable, and worth returning to.

We select pieces for real everyday life in New Zealand — comfortable layers, easy footwear, practical accessories, and timeless wardrobe favourites made for changing seasons, busy mornings, relaxed weekends, and everything in between.

This is not a story of failure.
It is a story of timing, family, and a dream finally ready to begin again.

Auckland’s Finest is our way of honouring what came before, while building something new for customers across New Zealand.

Thank you for being part of our second chapter.

With gratitude,
Clara & the Auckland’s Finest family
